Education

Lancashire County Council is the Local Education Authority for West Lancashire. As well as primary and secondary schools, West Lancashire is also home to Edge Hill University, its campus based in Ormskirk. West Lancashire College, based in Skelmersdale, was created in 2007 with the merger of Skelmersdale & Ormskirk College and Newcastle College.
