The Parliamentary seat of West Lancashire covers the entire borough with the excpetion of some of the northern parishes. Since 2005, the seat has been held by Labour's Rosie Cooper whose majority in the 2010 General Election was 4,343 ahead of Tory candidate Adrian Owens.
