A Skelmersdale beauty queen is celebrating after being crowned Beauty of Lancashire.
Sophie Hart, 20, picked up the title earlier this month and is now preparing to represent the county in the national final at Preston in October.
This is the second beauty pageant Sophie has entered, after finishing in the top 25 of Miss International and Intercontinental earlier this year.
Sophie, who also works full-time in a call centre, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won, I really can’t believe that I came top.
“I got the beauty pageant bug earlier this year and now I absolutely love it. When I was handed my crown and my sash it was really special.
“I modelled as a child, then gave it up for awhile, before getting back into it when I was around 15.
“It’s only recently that it’s taken off though and now I’m juggling my full-time job with shoots and appearance at the weekends.
“My dream is to get to model for big name brands in exotic locations, but I’m also aware that a lot of people want to do that too, but someone has to and I’m determined to push for my dream.”
As well as being crowned Beauty of Lancashire Sophie has also been named as the face of upcoming cosmetics brand, Bellissimo, who also sponsored Sophie through the pageant.
Sophie said: “I am so excited to be taking part in the grand finals, it is a great achievement for myself to represent Lancashire and I cant wait to meet all the girls from other county’s.
“If i am crowned Beauty Of England I will jet off to compete in the 2015 national final of Beauty Of the World which is set to be an amazing event.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“The support I have from all my family, friends and neighbours is wonderful, it gives me great ambition to push myself more on fundraising and giving back to the community.
“I will also be helping out my local Heart Foundation store located within the Concourse on an great fundraising day held on Saturday August 30 and would love to see everyone come down.”
