Man undergoes surgery after attack on Tuesday night

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in the leg in his own home in Skelmersdale.

Between 8.20pm and 8.30pm on Tuesday, May 27, two men entered a house on Egerton and stabbed the 27-year-old victim before leaving.

The man was then taken to Southport Hospital where he underwent surgery.

Detective Inspector Jane Webb said: “This was an isolated incident and we believe the people involved are known to each other. These incidents are rare and we do not believe there is a threat to the wider community.

“An investigation is underway and we are following up a number of enquiries. If anybody has any information at all about this incident they are urged to call police.”

The first offender is described as white, tall, of average build with medium length, light-brown hair. He was wearing a short sleeved, burgundy and dull green coloured polo shirt and tracksuit bottoms.

The second offender is described as white, smaller in height than the first man, of medium build and had a skinhead. He was wearing a horizontally striped, short sleeved polo shirt which was red, white and another colour, as well as bluish coloured trousers.
