OVER 250 people flocked to WWT Martin Mere to cheer on the rubber ducks in their Easter Sunday duck race.
Many brightly coloured ducks were entered into the contest at the Wetland Centre in Burscough, but it was duck 267 that stormed to victory, speeding past several competitors that got caught up in the river bank along the way.
The lucky owner of the victorious bird was Amy Elizabeth Rawcliffe, aged 4 from Southport.
She was rewarded with a £25 voucher for the centre's gift shop and a chocolate egg.
Over 600 ducks were given colourful paint jobs during 'paint a duck' sessions throughout the Easter holidays, and more than 250 of these returned for Sunday's race.
The Wildfowl and Wetland Trust's Martin Mere Wetland Centre is a haven for a whole host of wild animals including otters, flamingos and kingfishers.
WWT Martin Mere is open all year round, and offers a wide range of events and activities for the whole family.
