Police are appealing for information following a burglary where a 4x4 car, a large amount of jewellery, watches and designer bags were stolen.
At around 1.15am on June 26, a ground floor window of a house on Bradshaw Lane, Mawdesley, was forced open and the alarm system disabled by thieves.
The burglars went inside and searched the house from top to bottom, stealing designer handbags and a safe containing jewellery worth thousands of pounds.
Neighbours disturbed the thieves who then drove off in the home owner’s Black Range Rover Sport Autobiography which was stolen from the garage.
DS Steve Monk from South CID said: “I believe that the offenders were in the area for at least an hour and have deliberately targeted this property.
“The victims are understandably devastated after these items stolen, particularly as they are of a sentimental value, notably two rings that belonged to relatives who have passed away.
“I am appealing to anyone, especially local residents who may have seen anything suspicious around the time leading up to the burglary to get in contact with any information they may have.”
Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting reference number 0926 of 26 June 2014, or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
