Fundraisers from Ormskirk are hoping to raise enough money to send Leon-Paul Salamanca Walsh and his family on the trip of a lifetime to Euro Disney.

Emma Constantine, friend of Leon’s mum Toni-Marie, is planning to do a skydive from 12,000ft for the four-year-old.

Emma’s boss Laura Horn is also planning to help by donating the money made from a day’s business at Retreat Beauty and Neil Joseph in Ormskirk to the fund.

Leon is yet to be formally diagnosed but it’s believed he is suffering from some form of regressive genetic condition.

Emma, 30, said: “I’ve known Toni-Marie since we were kids but when I moved down south we lost touch, when I came back to Ormskirk we reconnected and I learned all about Leon.

“Lots of people have already done events to help with Leon’s treatment but I wanted to do something specifically for a holiday for him.

“Euro Disney is the only place in Europe that has rides he can go on. There’s 70 attractions that are suitable, including rollercoasters and I knew he’d absolutely love it.

“My little girl Phoebe and Leon are the same age and I can’t even imagine the struggles Toni has faced, so anything I can do to help give them a break is worth it. “

Emma is planning to undertake the challenge at Lancaster on August 23 supported by her children and husband Adam.

She is hoping to raise around £700 to go towards the holiday which the family are hoping to undertake around Christmas time.

Emma said: “I’m really excited for the skydive, I think I’m ok with heights but I keep getting butterflies when I think about jumping out of a plane."

Retreat Salon is planning to host their fundraising day for Leon on Monday August 18 from 8am to 8pm.

All the money made on that day will go towards the holiday fund and there are a wide range of treatments available including spray tans, waxing and manicures.

Salon owner Laura, 30, said: “When I heard about Leon and what Emma was doing for him I was so proud and wanted to support her in any way I could.

“The fundraising day has already had a lot of interest and we’re already half way to our target, but we still need people to support us, so come along, treat yourself and help a good cause. ”
