Masked gang rob group of friends as they walk through Skelmersdale

Smart phones and wallet robbed from trio of friends on a Sunday evening

A group of friends were robbed by a masked gang of five men in dark clothing as the walked through Skelmersdale.

The trio were making there way along a footpath close to Lulworth on Sunday, August 24 just after 10:15pm when they were approached by five men.

One friend was to the ground by one of the offenders and the males then went through his pockets making off with a Samsung Galaxy phone and his wallet. Another of the friends had his iPhone stolen.

DC Edward Wenham of Skelmersdale Police said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen what happened to come forward and speak to police.

"We would like to trace the five males involved and anyone with information should contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log number 1461 of Sunday 24 August or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The males were all wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident with one male wearing a grey duffle coat.

Some of the males were reported to have spoken with a Liverpool accent and they all had their faces covered.
