Personal Care Services complete 21 mile challenge for charity

Over £3,000 eventually raised for the Roy Castle Lung Foundation

The team with the cheque for Roy Castle Lung Foundation

On Saturday, July 26 the team at Personal Care Services completed  the 21 mile walk with all proceeds going to Roy Castle Lung Foundation. The walk faced some challenges along the way. The team set of at Waterloo at 7.30am and followed the coastal path, then onto the beach at Formby. There they were bitten by sand flies and the temperature was reaching 26 degrees. They kept their spirits high knowing they were raising money for such a good cause.

The stretch from Ainsdale to Southport had to be the hardest part of the walk at this point they were extremely tired and suffered from blisters, sore feet and sunburn. When the team got to Southport they met John Redfern, who pushed everyone over the line by completing the final four miles with the team.

On Thursday, August 9 Liz Legge and Nadia Alsafaar from Roy Castle Lung Foundation came to the offices of Personal Care Services and John Redfern presented them with a cheque £2,408.00 on behalf of Personal Care Services, and they have now raised over £3,000.
