Police are appealing for information after a man was robbed in the street in Skelmersdale.

Around 12.15am on Valentines Day this year, a 36-year-old man was withdrawing money from the cash machine on Digmoor Parade.

He was approached by two thugs who punched and kicked him before stealing the man’s mobile phone and cash.

They are described as white and around 17 years old. One of them was wearing a red jacket, possibly with stripes down the arms.

It is believed the men were in a gang compromising of at least three other men at the time of the incident.

Detective Constable Karen Johnson said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack and we need to find the people responsible.

“It happened in the very early hours of Valentine’s Day, if anybody recalls seeing anything suspicious then please come forward.

“If anybody has any information about this incident then I would urge them to contact police on 101.”

Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
