Police release CCTV after 23-year-old assaulted in Ormskirk

Victim was left with a broken jaw following the attack on the corner of The Stiles car park

Lancashire Police  have released a CCTV image of a man and woman they would like to speak to after a 23-year-old man was assaulted in Ormskirk town centre.

At around 2.30am on Sunday July 13 the victim was seen in The Kebab House on Church Street with a group of friends before leaving and walking towards Derby Street.

It is believed that he was assaulted between 2.50am and 3am on the corner of The Stiles car park near Derby Street West. He sustained a broken jaw which required hospital treatment. 

Police would like to speak to the man and woman pictured in the CCTV image. It is believed they were with another man and woman and were seen leaving The Kebab House at approximately 2.50am on the night of the assault.

DC Kate Ellison of Skelmersdale Police said:  “This was a nasty assault which left the victim requiring an operation on his broken jaw and enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances of the assault. 

"We believe the man and woman pictured in the CCTV image may have been in the vicinity at the time of the incident and I would appeal to anybody who recognises them or knows who they are to contact me at Skelmersdale CID on 01695 566158.”
