Fairbanks Environmental Ltd, which provide management services to petrol firms across 34 countries including Shell and BP, was presented with the International Achievement Award at the Red Rose Awards.

Fairbanks, Business of the Year at the 2013 BIBA Awards, was picked ahead of eight other businesses from the region.

“The strength of the other businesses within the region meant that Fairbanks faced stiff competition, however the public recognition of our staff in delivering an outstanding service was beneficial.

“They are the reason for our growing success both at home and in international markets and are the absolute backbone of our company.

“I would like to thank each and every one of them for their hard work.

“Being recognised in this way has really put a smile on the faces of everyone at Fairbanks.”

Judges at The Red Rose Awards said: “Fairbanks embraced real-time technology and succession planning, offering graduates career progression, while achieving 50% turnover internationally.”

Over 1,100 Lancashire businesses were honoured at the fourth annual awards, which were organised by Lancashire Business View magazine.

The winners were chosen from 20 categories. Richard Slater of Lancashire Business View, said: “We’ve unearthed some great stories.”
