Teen robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight for smart phone

Young woman suffered cuts and bruises to her face after being knocked down by robber

A heroic boyfriend chased off a robber after he knocked down his girlfriend and snatched her smart phone.

The couple were walking along a wooded path just off Neverstitch Road in broad daylight when a man robbed them at knifepoint.

The attacker, described as a white male, 5ft 5in and thin, threatened the pair and demanded they give him their money and phones.

The man then tried to take the iPhone 5 from the 19-year-old girl’s hands and knocked her to the floor leaving her with cuts and bruises to her face.

This is when the hero boyfriend chased after the robber, who spoke with a Liverpool accent, down the road.

Police are appealing for any information and the ordeal has left the victim shaken.

The attack happened as the couple were walking along the quiet country road at the edge of town on Thursday, August 21 at around 6.20pm.

DC Jo Collinson, of Skelmersdale CID, said: “This incident has left the young woman very shaken and I would urge anyone that might have seen something around the time of the robbery to get in touch as soon as they can.”
