YOUNG footballers from around Ormskirk showed off their football skills at a soccer school organised by Wigan Athletic Football Club.
Coaches from the club’s community programme came along to St Anne’s Primary to work with the children from the Aughton Street school and other local primaries.
The coaches spent a week teaching the children new skills at after school sessions and then held an awards ceremony at the end.
All the children loved taking part in the workshop and learned plenty of new tricks.
Wigan have been running the workshops for eight years and take children from different schools across the area.
The children also learn the importance of fair play as part of the FA’s Respect Campaign.
Mark Thomas, a teacher from St Anne’s primary school, said: “There was a great response from the children and they all had a great time.”
