Galactic theme for this year’s Parbold Village Festival

PARBOLD Village Festival is going on a journey into space for this year’s theme.

The festival kicks off at 1pm this Saturday (July 18) with all sorts of fun and games including Punch and Judy, tombola, fair rides and a bouncy castle.

There will also be a karate display, refreshments, stalls, circus skills and a dance display.

At the village hall the afternoon starts with the judging of the children’s fancy dress competition at 1pm.

The categories include aged five and under, 11 and under and over 11s. Children must be dressed to link in with the “Journey into Space” theme. Winners will receive a small prize and medal.

During the afternoon there will be children’s activities inside the library and Barn Owl Bill outside, circus skills in the play area, stalls and games outside the shops and fairground rides behind the Railway Hotel as Blackpool comes to Parbold.

Refreshments including tea, coffee and scones will be inside the WI Hall with staged displays in the hall.

All show exhibits, stalls, BBQ and ice cream will be at the village hall, where the raffle will be drawn and trophies presented at 4pm.

l Please note that the car parks in front of the shops and the village hall will be closed to vehicles from 12pm to 5pm.
