IMPROVEMENT schemes worth £330,000 are likely to be approved by West Lancashire Council chiefs next week.
Council leader Cllr Ian Grant will enhance in particular leisure facilities in the Borough which are in addition to its already declared list of capital schemes to be delivered in the next few years.
The works include Coronation Park Skelmersdale; Richmond Park and Manor Road, Burscough; Halsall Lane, Ormskirk and the popular allotments at Tower Hill Ormskirk.
Exact details of schemes are yet to be finalised as residents are to be consulted.
Leisure portfolio holder Cllr Andrew Fowler said: “I believe these projects give excellent value for money and will benefit many residents and their children with these new and enhanced facilities.”
Cllr Grant said: “To be able to announce increases in capital spending in a number of areas in the borough was fantastic news.”
Cabinet members will also consider financial pressures facing the council.
Cllr Paul Cotterill, Labour Group leader, said: “This announcement that the council will spend some if its capital money allocation amounts to little more than an announcement that the council is actually planning to do a little bit of the job it is supposed to do.”
