FUNERAL directors Cookson Tyrer has teamed up with national road safety charity, Brake, to encourage schools to help make children aware about road safety.
Cookson Tyrer Funeral Home has donated high visibility reflective badges to pupils at Burscough Village Primary school and Newburgh Primary school.
“We are helping to raise awareness of the importance of being visible on the road during dark nights. With the clocks having just gone back, darker mornings and evenings mean that children need to take extra care on their journeys to and from school,” said John Blair from Cookson Tyrer Funerals.
Gill Serjeant, headmistress of Burscough Primary School and Janice Reynolds headmistress of Newburgh Primary School, both said they were really pleased to be involved with the scheme.
Gill added: “We are delighted to be supporting this initiative by Cookson Tyrer and Brake, which emphasises the importance of road safety to our pupils”.
