Woodlands Primary School pupils enjoy a trip around the Procter and Gamble site in Skelmersdale

INTERNATIONAL firm Procter & Gamble invited Woodland Community Primary schoolchildren to enjoy a tour of its base at Skelmersdale’s Pimbo Industrial Estate.

The aim is to increase awareness of the work the company do in their distribution centre.

Mark Miller, Woodland School headteacher, said: “We are delighted to continue the relationship we have established with P&G following previous successful projects.

“The children have learnt a lot from this hands-on experience.”

The children were shown the supply chain from manufacturing plant to supermarket with fun and interactive activities.

Julie Jackson, Community Matters co-ordinator at P&G Skelmersdale, said: “We are delighted to be working with the children on this project and look forward to involving more schools in the future.”

Tours include the 33,000 pallet spots automated warehouse and children then work with a P&G green team leader on recycling, and are all later given a gift.
