Ormskirk Comedian Jon Culshaw receives Edge Hill University honorary award

ONE of Britain’s most popular impressionists received an honorary degree from Edge Hill University during a graduation ceremony.

Last Saturday the Ormskirk campus came alive as more than 520 students from health, arts and sciences enjoyed their graduation day.

Broadcaster, presenter and master impressionist Jon Culshaw joined the celebrations to receive an honorary award in recognition of his success in his professional life. It also acknowledges Jon’s invaluable work and leadership for a wide range of charitable causes, including the Variety Club to help support disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.

Born and bred in Ormskirk, Jon started out his broadcasting career in hospital radio.

He is most famous for his work on BBC Radio 4 and BBC2’s award-winning show Dead Ringers, ITV’s 2DTV and his contributions to BBC Radio 1, particularly on the Chris Moyles Show. He has also appeared in well-known TV dramas including Heartbeat and Little Britain and has featured in his own shows including The Impressions Show with Debra Stephenson.
