Rufford youngster Jack Fiddler, 10, raises £400 for The Legacy Rainbow House Rainbow Ramble

A 10-YEAR-OLD Rufford boy has raised £400 for children’s charity The Legacy Rainbow House after completing the 18 mile Rainbow Ramble charity walk.

Jack Fiddler, who was one of the youngest participants in the walk, says he heard that the Rainbow Ramble was to raise funds to help poorly children and felt compelled to take part.

He said: “I heard about and spoke to my Granny about it. She explained that it would raise money for poorly children and help them in the future.

I really wanted to take part, so raised sponsorship through my school and from neighbours. The walk took Granny and I nearly seven and a half hours, but it was really worth it!”

The money Jack raised will go towards helping children with disabilities, brain injuries, and life limiting conditions from The Legacy Rainbow House’s centre of excellence in Mawdesley.

The centre helps children and their families from all over the UK through conductive education, rehabilitation, recreation and therapy.

Hundreds of people took part in the Rainbow Ramble which organisers hope will have raise £25,000 for the charity.

Entrants had the choice of taking a 10-mile and and 18-mile route.
