Ormskirk Advertiser continues Crackdown on Crime Campaign

HELP us stamp out crime in West Lancs by calling police with information regarding the crimes on this page.

Last week we started our Crackdown on Crime campaign as we bid to clean up the streets and make Ormskirk a better place.

Officers in Skelmersdale have already had a good response from the public following the launch of a similar campaign in our sister paper the Skelmersdale Advertiser.

We are sure there are similarly community-minded people living on the eastern side of the borough and they will be getting in contact with police regarding these incidents.

Images one and two relate to the theft of food and a toiletry item from the Texaco garage in Bickerstaffe at 5pm on November 8 last year.

Police want to speak to this man and a woman in connection with the crimes.

Image three relates to a fraud crime at Home Bargains in Ormskirk at 1.28pm on April 9 this year.

The customer – who is in the picture – asked the cashier for change and has received more money than was exchanged.

The fourth picture is from an incident of wine theft from Marks & Spencer at 4.46pm on May 5 this year.

Police want to speak to this man in connection with the incident.

Picture five relates to a 24-pack of Grolsch lager going missing from the Spar store in Aughton at 2pm on May 8 this year.

Police want to speak to the man pictured in relation to this crime.

The final image relates to the theft of £315 of alcohol from Morrison’s supermarket in Ormskirk on at 7pm on May 11 this year.

Andrew Edwards, Ormskirk Advertiser group editor, said: “We are very pleased that the good people of our towns have responded positively to our campaign.

“We hope this continues as we join the police in the battle to clean up our streets.”

A police spokesman said: “We would urge people to take a close look at the CCTV images.

“If they recognise anybody or have any information that could help police, please contact us on 08451 25 35 45.”
