Food and drink festival returns to Burscough Wharf this weekend

FOLLOWING the success of Burscough Wharf’s first food & drink festival last year, a host of specialist producers are set to return for another day of culinary delights.

Some familiar participants from last year will be joined by a selection of new stalls offering a range of local produce including preserves, seafood, fruit and veg, cheese, pies, confectionery and much more.

In addition, visitors will enjoy exciting cooking demonstrations from resident Blue Mallard restaurant, and live music from Adam Christopher’s School of Musical Excellence.

A choice of hot food will also be available including a hog-roast and grill, while MBarK will be running a BBQ throughout the afternoon.

There will also be a free prize draw to win £50 to spend at the Wharf.

Ray Eckersley, Burscough Wharf site manager, said: “We’re delighted to be holding our second food & drink festival.

“It’s fantastic to see so many local food producers excited to be returning following last year’s success.”

The free festival will begin at 10am and finish at 4pm on Sunday, September 23.
