Masterchef stars cook up a treat at Tinkers of Aughton launch
MASTERCHEF finalist Jay Tinker was joined in the kitchen by one of his fellow contestants from the show at the opening of his new restaurant.
Tinkers of Aughton, on Springfield Road, is the chef’s second venture with business partner Michael Oliver following the launch of their first eaterie in Southport in April.
And Jay was joined in the former Bellagio building for last Thursday's launch night – an invite-only event for friends, family and local businesses – by Eamonn Hunt, who finished fifth in this year's Masterchef competition.
The restaurant opened to the public on Friday, and speaking after the launch Jay said: “It was a great night, it was the first time me and Eamonn have cooked together and not been competing which was nice.
“We’ve had a good opening weekend and are just looking forward to getting busier and busier now.
“We’d like to thank everyone who has helped us get the second restaurant open.”
Masterchef 2012 winner Shelina Permalloo will be appearing as a guest chef on two ticket-only Mauritian nights later in the year, with dates yet to be announced.
Tinkers of Aughton is now open for lunches and evening bookings, call 01695 423324.
