THE organisers of Burscough Wharf’s first Fibre Fest have hailed it a huge success.
On Sunday, hundreds of visitors enjoyed a selection of yarn-related demonstrations including lacemaking, spinning and other crafts, while a range of exhibitors were selling handmade crafts and materials.
The event, which was organised by Colin and Carole Wareing – owners of the well-known Wool Boat – attracted people of all ages from around the county, including professionals and amateurs.
Speaking of the festival, Colin said: “We are delighted with the turnout, it’s fantastic to see so much interest in these traditional crafts.
“The support from exhibitors was great and many have said they would be delighted to take part in another one, which is good news.”
Burscough Wharf is now looking forward to its first Chic Vintage Fair, which is planned for November 24.
