A PERFORMANCE which commemorates the sacrifice made by our troops in conflicts across the decades is staged at Ormskirk Civic Hall next month.
Remember is a production by Ormskirk Theatre Company which includes war poetry, songs, video sequences and even the chance for the audience to join in with a sing-a-long.
A piece that has expanded with each performance since it was first staged in November 2010, the latest version includes content to mark the 30th anniversary of the Falklands War.
A spokesman for Ormskirk Theatre Company said: “On November 11, 2011, the production we called Remembrance became Remember and was staged again in an adapted form at Ormskirk Civic Hall. We added scenery, authentic army, navy and air force uniforms as well as women’s costumes of the period.
“Local history was added too with descriptions of the Ormskirk Territorials who were based at the Civic Hall, then the Drill Hall during the Great War, HMS Ringtail in Burscough in World War II and many others.”
The Civic Hall performance is at 7.30pm on Friday, November 9. Tickets from Brighouse Wolff on Aughton Street or online at www.ormskirktheatrecompany.co.uk
