20 years as vicar of Christ Church, Aughton

MEMBERS of Christ Church in Aughton celebrated the 20th anniversary of Rev Ross Moughtin as their vicar.

At the end of the family service, members of the different congregations gathered to make a presentation to the reverend, along with his wife Jacqui, which included the cutting of a special cake.

During Rev Moughtin’s time as vicar, the new £1.1m Ministry Centre was built alongside the church.

This autumn the church is also holding its 38th Alpha course, which has already been taken by more than 600 people. Rev Moughtin said: “This came as a complete surprise – I was totally knocked off balance!

“But I thank God for the love and support of the people of Christ Church.

“It has been a privilege being vicar here.”
