A SERIES of locked cars have been broken into while parked outside West Lancs pubs.
Car parks outside several pubs and restaurants – as well as a church – were targeted by thieves between October 30 and November 4.
Two Audis had their windows smashed outside the Sandpiper, on Ormskirk Old Road, on October 30. The front and rear passenger windows of an Audi A3 were smashed between 6.30pm and 9.05pm. The offenders searched the interior and pulled down the back seats to get into the boot area. They stole a set of keys belonging to another vehicle.
Thieves smashed the rear window of an Audi A7 in the same car park between 8.10pm and 8.30pm, again folding down the back seats, but fled empty- handed. A screwdriver was used to try and force the strip on the back passenger window of a VW Golf outside the Miller & Carter steakhouse, on Parbold Hill, between 6.45 and 8.45pm on the same day.
Meanwhile, outside Sam’s Bar, in Appley Bridge, offenders smashed the rear window of a Ford Focus between 8.30pm on November 3 and 9am November 4, stealing two cordless drills, and their chargers, a Mio PDA and charger and a DVD of the victim’s wedding.
A VW Golf parked in St Joseph Church’s car park on Crow Orchard Road, Wrightington, was also broken into between 12.45pm and 6.30pm on November 4.
A pair of Top Man black leather laced men’s shoes worth £50 were stolen from the boot.
