Eighties pop favourites Black Lace in Ormskirk on November 30 for Christmas lights switch-on

A 1980s pop favourite will join our Mayor and Town Crier for what looks set to be a memorable Christmas light switch-on in Ormskirk next Friday (November 30).

Black Lace, the duo who had popular hits in the 1980s with party favourites Agadoo, Superman and Do the Conga are the headline act in the town centre where the fun begins at 4.30pm.

Skelmersdale Community Singers and the Ormskirk Ukulele Club will perform a medley of Christmas favourites. A carol service begins at 6pm when West Lancashire’s Town Crier, Don Evans, calls for order.

Children’s entertainer Fun Steve will be on stage as well as going out into the crowd to keep people happy. There will also be a selection of children’s rides.

The Mayor, Cllr Paul Greenall, will deliver the Christmas address and join Black Lace to throw the switch at 6.30pm to bring Ormskirk’s Christmas illuminations to life for 2012.
