Pupils find the recipe for a healthy diet

THE children of St John’s Primary School, Crossens, experienced a nutritious treat as part of their Healthy Eating Week.

The Junior Chef Company took the children through their culinary paces to create a healthy nutritious salad, while providing the children with facts and tips about healthy eating and the importance of a balanced diet. From the very youngest Reception children, up to Year 6, all children were able to take home their delicious healthy meal to share with their families at home.

The children have been busy with a range of activities to promote healthy eating: designing healthy lunch-boxes, creating healthy eating posters, a daily healthy eating challenge and nutritious diet quizzes.

Parents were encouraged to get involved by sending in a healthy recipe for all to enjoy.
