Dementia consultation events to be held in West Lancashire

A CONSULTATION over possible changes to specialist dementia services in Lancashire to cope with expected increases in demand has been launched.

In West Lancashire, there are currently 1,365 of people living with dementia and numbers across the county are projected to increase by 50% by 2025.

NHS Lancashire and Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust launched a 12-week consultation last month proposing two options for specialist community services – a single site in Blackpool or two sites in Blackpool and Blackburn. Consultation events are taking place on Tuesday, January 8, from 1pm-3pm at Skelmersdale Ecumenical Centre, and on Tuesday, January 24, from 6pm- 8pm, at Brookside Dementia Resource Centre.
