West Lancashire Positive Living have recently been awarded £9880 from Awards For All.

West Lancs Positive Living supports a vast range of people from those requiring minimal support to those who require high levels of support, individuals who may have challenging behaviour, require support with personal care, have a physical disability or use alternatives to verbal communication.

The organisation provides paid staff support and transportation to the individual, which allows them to develop their independence, promote their social inclusion and develop friendships and a life away from their families. The service allows the carer to have a much needed break from their caring role and the person they care for to enjoy new experiences that others take for granted.
The sessions will seek to offer a minimum of 30 individuals with disabilities the opportunity to access a range of health related activities with the aim of increasing their general fitness, wellbeing and knowledge around their own health.

The funding will be used for :
1. Cook and Dine sessions.
2. Walks.
3. Dance sessions.
4. Wii Nights.
5. Boccia sessions.
6. Multi sports – sessions in sports centres, e.g. racquet sports, use of the gym.
7. Men and women health nights – session to discuss and offer information around personal health with the opportunity to ask questions.

The project seeks to offer a broad range of health related activity in a fun way to appeal to as wider audience as possible.
West Lancs Positive Living would like to take this opportunity to thank Awards For All for this opportunity.
