POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Lathom in which a teenager suffered a serious leg injury.
A red Ford Fiesta was travelling along Briars Lane towards Parbold when the driver lost control, collided with a tree and then a lorry at around 9.50pm on Wednesday January 16.
The 17-year-old who was driving suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Fazackerley Hospital. Although his injuries are serious, they are not believed to be life threatening. The 48-year-old man in the lorry was uninjured.
The road was closed for around three and half hours for collision investigators to carry their investigations.
Sgt Sean Cunningham said: “An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this collision is now underway and I would ask anyone who witnessed it to contact police.
“This boy has potentially suffered a life changing injury and we are offering him and his family support at this time.”
