Nominate your sporting hero in Ormskirk and Skelmersdale Advertiser awards

NOMINATIONS have been flying in for this year’s Advertiser Sports Awards.

Last week we revealed that this year the annual event will take place on Friday April 19 at Edge Hill.

We are now asking readers to nominate the sporting heroes from West Lancashire over the past year who they believe should win one of our prestigious prizes.

The full list of categories is: Sports Personality of the Year; Junior Sports Personality of the Year; Team of the Year; Coach of the Year; Junior Team of the Year; Hall of Fame trophy; Sports Student of the Year (to be awarded by Edge Hill); disability inclusion; disability achievement and lifetime achievement.

There is a separate award – Unsung Hero – which recognises those working behind the scenes.

Each year we reward someone who has performed at the highest level in their sport by inducting them into our Hall of Fame. The awards are organised by the Advertiser in association with Edge Hill University and the West Lancs Disability Sports Forum.
