The Farm Burscough
A BURSCOUGH business has been ranked among the best eateries in the county.
The Farm Burscough, on Martin Lane, has won the coveted “Highest Quality Assured Award” from tourist board Visit Lancashire – for the second year running.
The award acknowledges that the Farm has shown excellence in customer service and food and drink provision.
The judges decided that the tearoom/restaurant again provided a consistently high quality eating experience while using locally sourced and homegrown produce.
The award assessment was carried out by a mystery diner, to gain a true perception of the venue, and the business was marked against a series of stringent criteria.
The Highest Quality Assured Award is given to eateries achieving only the top scores as part of the assessment.
Freda Neale, of the Farm Burscough, said: “We get many lovely comments from our customers about the quality of our food and service. People always seem to enjoy visiting us on the farm and that means a lot. But it is also great that we have been officially recognised again in this way.
“To be considered one of the best in Lancashire is fantastic for us as and the fact that the assessment was done in secret makes it even more relevant.
“I hope that us getting another award again reminds Lancastrians of the quality establishments they have on their doorsteps – especially down on the Farm!”
The Farm Burscough is a homely tearoom restaurant and farm shop in a renovated 18th Century brick-barn in the heart of West Lancashire. The building, on Martin Lane, also houses a small rural four-star, bed and breakfast.
