FORMER Advertiser reporter Gemma Jaleel wed her partner Michael Cheetham in a lavish ceremony surrounded by family and friends.
Gemma, 27 and Mike, 38, were married by Fr Godric Timney at St Anne’s Church in Ormskirk on December 12, 2012.
The couple, who have been together for 10 years, enjoyed a sparkly Harry Potter-themed evening reception with over 270 guests at Holland Hall Hotel in Up Holland.
Gemma, daughter of Rosaleen and Ahmed Jaleel, was married in an ivory Maggie Sottero gown holding a rose and calla lily bouquet.
Her bridesmaids included her sisters Erin Grime and Ciara Jaleel, best friend Sarah Gaffney and cousins Sophia and Rani Iqbal, who also acted as maid of honour and her niece Niamh Grime as flowergirl.
Mike, son of Alice and John Cheetham, enjoyed a relaxed round of golf at Ormskirk Golf Club with his ushers including Tom Bristow, Phil Roberts, Martin Flynn, Tony Dainty, Lee Barratt, and best man Karl Brunton before the ceremony.
Gemma, who now works as a reporter for the Liverpool ECHO, told the Advertiser: “It was a beautiful day and great to celebrate with all our friends and family.”
