BANKS crowned its first Banx Factor winner in front of a cheering crowd on Friday.
The village turned out in force for the inaugural annual talent show at St Stephens Social Club following two hard-fought heats earlier in the year.
Skelmersdale youngster Bradley Stockton, a year 6 pupil from Woodland community primary school, wowed the crowds with his version of Footloose.
He will now go on to perform as the closing act at this year’s Banks Carnival on June 1.
Banks youngster George Fewtrell, a pupil at Banks Methodist, also went down a storm with his dance moves.
The night also saw the crowning of this year’s Banks Carnival Queen, 12-year-old Shannon Bridge. And for the first time, the carnival will also have a princess – Kayla Rimmer, 7.
Paul Blane, chairman of Banks Carnival, said: “Friday night was amazing, the venue was packed and the talent on show was extraordinary.
“I am delighted that everyone has once again got involved and the carnival spirit is gaining momentum. “The committee works so hard for the village, and all of us cannot wait to celebrate once more on June 1.”
