A CHOCOLATE shop that is set to open in Tarleton has won a 2013 Great Taste award.
Choc Amor, which already has shops in Botany Bay and Chorley, will be bringing its award-winning confectionery to a new tea rooms in Tarleton later this year.
At this year’s Great Taste Awards, Choc Amor wowed judges with its Salt Liquorice and was awarded One Star – in one of the world’s largest and most rigorous food awards scheme involving over 400 judges and thousands of hours of blind tasting.
Chocolatier Paul Williams said: “My passion for food and creative cooking have had a huge influence on the chocolate I offer and this has allowed me to marry combinations of ingredients together resulting in flavours that are wrong but once tasted are so right.
“To now have a Great Taste Award confirming this along with being a finalist of the BIBAS 2013 is just amazing and all in a little over a year since opening the doors.
“This just goes to show that with hard work and the right product you can succeed in these hard times.
“As for celebrating, we will be putting the Champagne on ice until later this month for when we open our new venture, The Chocolate Rooms, a chocolate-themed tea rooms in Tarleton.”
At the 2013 Great Taste competition, a total of more than 12 judges will have tasted and commented on each product.
The awards are organised by the Guild of Fine Food, which promotes excellence in speciality foods.
