Burscough mum loses baby weight and feels incredible
A NURSERY assistant has lost six stone after gaining the weight during her two pregnancies.
Lyndsay Dixon, 30, ballooned to 16 stone in her second pregnancy and on the birth of her second daughter she decided to lose the baby weight for good.
Lyndsay, who lives in Burscough, lost both her parents when she was 17 and turned to food to comfort her in her grief.
During her first pregnancy with baby Ellie, now six, she thought a lot about her own parents and piled on four and a half stone.
Then she joined Slimming World and lost all the weight she had gained – but it was during her second pregnancy with baby Lucy, now aged two, that she grew to 16 stone.
Lyndsay said: “I was so terrified of my kids losing me like I lost my parents.
“When I got to a certain size, I just decided I had to do something about it for my kids.
“It was hard but I’m just so much more confident now I’ve lost the weight.
“It’s taken me about 17 months to lose 6 stone but I just feel incredible for it.
“When I was heavier, I just didn’t feel like myself.
“I was so insecure and terrified John my partner would leave me as I just wasn’t the woman he fell in love with anymore.”
Now however, Lyndsay feels like a new woman and joiner John can’t keep his hands off her.
Lyndsay said: “I have to keep batting him away. He can’t believe the transformation, he’s got the old Lyndsay back.”
The nursery assistant has vowed never to go back to her comfort eating ways and is now encouraging others in her group to keep going on their weight-loss journey.
Lyndsay continued: “This is my way of life now; there’s no way that I’m going to ever let myself get that big again.
“Slimming World really has changed my life. I’ve met so many new friends through it and I love going to my Wednesday meetings.
After winning Woman of the Year in her Ormskirk group, Lyndsay has now been entered for the regional Woman of the Year competition.
