Ormskirk lingerie boutique features real women from West Lancashire in ad campaign
LINGERIE boutique Pandora’s Box has recruited “real women” from the area to showcase its latest underwear range.
The Ormskirk boutique wanted to create a promotional campaign that featured genuine customers to give a truer picture of underwear buyers – rather than use industry models.
Co-owners Katie Given and Jackie Wood held castings at the store last month, choosing three women to champion the brand.
Katie said: “The response was incredible.
“The campaign is in response to the majority of customers telling us they couldn’t relate to the images which are usually supplied to highlight what we have in store. All three women represent Pandora’s Box perfectly.
“We wanted a cross-section of our customers and we found that their ages cover the shop’s core client base , 19-42, and they all have different shapes, bra sizes and interesting stories to tell.”
Sara Ainscow, from Skelmersdale, is the pregnant model for the campaign. The 31-year-old works as an executive PA at Edge Hill and is expecting her third child in November.
Sara said: “I wanted to do it because so many pregnant women worry about what they look like, about putting weight on their thighs and their bum and boobs and they just don’t feel good about themselves.
“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about being pregnant, it’s the most natural thing.
“I think women tend to cover up especially in the later stages but you’re still you, you don't change as a person.
“It’s nice to make yourself feel a bit more attractive in the morning by wearing nice underwear.”
Jade Forshaw, 19, from Ormskirk, is currently in her second year of Film Studies at Warwick University.
She applied to be in the campaign to celebrate her curves.
Jade said: “I’m not a super-skinny girl, I never have been, but I’ve always been brought up to love my natural healthy curves and see them as a positive thing.
“So many lingerie models are a size eight and when I see those adverts I really do wish there were more women who were real sizes.
“I loved taking part in this campaign. The underwear was really gorgeous and it was so much fun to do with the other women.”
