A BROTHER and sister are through to the regional final of a nationwide singing competition after impressing judges earlier this month.
Livvy K – previous finalist of Teenstar UK – and her older brother Alex, from Scarisbrick, were both given the big thumbs-up by judges at the Open Mic auditions on Sunday, September 8.
Along with other impressive acts Livvy, 12, and Alex, 13, will be performing in the live showcases of the competition.
The first of which will be held at the Liner Hotel in Liverpool on October 27 at 12noon.
Both of them are now in the running for a place in the grand final at the O2 Arena in London.
Livvy and Alex both attend Burscough Priory High School and Livvy is a student at the Kelly Shirley School of Dance.
The school’s Kelly Tobin is extremely proud of her achievements to date and has always said Livvy has star potential.
Alex attends Ormskirk’s Sound Effects music school , whose Tim Lobely said: ‘‘Alex is a talented musician and vocalist.”
“He has recently written his first song which we have recorded in our studio and will soon be available to download on I-tunes.
“We wish him all the best in Open Mic which is the first competition he has entered.”
Mum Michelle Karalius is incredibly proud of her childrens’ achievements.
She said: “I’m made up that they’ve both made it through to the final.
“I was away when I heard they had got through and I was just so pleased for them.
“They’re both up against each other in the same cate- gory but a little sibling rivalry will help them, I think.
“Whatever happens they’re both very supportive of one another and I’m so proud of them both.”
