A GRANDMOTHER has shed an amazing 4st 7lb since joining a local weight loss club in November last year
Susan Yates, 66, from Ormskirk, has shrunk from a size 18-20 to a healthy 12-14 and has loved shopping for the perfect outfit, finding a slinky party dress for the festive season.
Susan has had an uphill struggle with her weight for over ten years, which peaked at just over 13st.
She said: “I felt so unhappy about the way I looked,
“One day I looked at myself in the mirror and just had a realisation, I knew my weight had got out of hand and I vowed to do something about it.”
Susan told The Advertiser that since rejoining Slimming World, things have changed, making it easier for her to stay on track and reach her target weight.
She said: “I'm in a group called Extra Easy and it really is. There is no measuring and weighing at meal times, which I know puts a lot of people off dieting.
“I'm really motivated now, going to the Slimming World group is a great way to start the morning.
“With the dark winter nights drawing in, I knew I would be tempted to skip an evening class so the morning is perfect for me and everyone is just so lovely and supportive.”
Her transformation has helped her become slimmer, healthier and happier, allowing her to spend more time and be more active with her five-year-old grandson, Josh.
Susan has wowed her friends and family with her dramatic weight loss and boost of self confidence.
She said: “I have a very supportive family, my two sons are highly delighted for me. With Slimming World, you don't follow a diet temporarily and then go back to your old habits.
“I've got a completely new lifestyle now, I've learned how to make delicious and healthy meals. My downfall used to be crisps and savoury pastry but you're not told you can't have it so I don't have the same cravings.
“Everyone's been so supportive, especially my consultant. We have a closed group on Facebook so I can get support right there and then whenever needed – I don't think I could have done so well without all their support”.
The mum-of-two is delighted to be back to a size she has not been in over 43 years, since her wedding in 1970. She said: “I must see if my wedding dress still fits!”.
