GORDON Wilcock, 66, of Middlewood Road, Aughton, appeared before Ormskirk Magistrates on January 31 charged with fraudulently obtaining a benefit, namely pension credit on October 19, 2009.
Wilcock had capital in excess of the permitted limit but told the department for work and pensions that he did not.
Wilcock pleaded not guilty to the charge but was found guilty by magistrates.
He was given a community order, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and to pay costs of £1000 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
DARYL Alan Robinson, 25, of Sephton Drive, Ormskirk and Jamie Robinson, 28, of Sephton Drive, Ormskirk, appeared before Ormskirk Magistrates on January 31 charged with beating Carl Loftus on November 30 at Ormskirk.
Daryl Robinson pleaded not guilty to the charge but Jamie Robinson pleaded guilty.
Both have been given unconditional bail and are due to appear again on April 4 at Ormskirk Magistrates for Daryl Robinson’s trial.
SEBASTIAN Wilson, 26, of Cole Crescent was charged with not wearing a seatbelt while driving a Ford Fiesta on July 22, 2013 on Holborn Hill, Ormskirk.
The charge was proved in his absence and Wilson was given a £200 fine, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.
