BOROUGH-WIDE: Police are urging people to be cautious following a spate of burglaries. On May 26, a ladies gold rose chain worth £200 was taken from a house on Pool Hey Lane in Scarisbrick. The following day at 3pm an £8,000 silver, green Jaguar S-type, registration PJ51 DWE, was taken from a house on Granville Park, Aughton. On May 28 an £11,000 black Subaru car, registration BL08 XH, was taken along with a paramotor flying machine, laptop, Canon camera and two flatscreen TVs, with a combined value of £20,000. Witnesses reported seeing two men with a Renault Kangoo van approach the property. In Scarisbrick a Chevrolet Tacuma was stolen from a property on Kew House Drive between 11.30pm on May 29 and 6.45am the next morning. The car was found burnt out in Moss Lane, Southport. A Mercedes Benz and Citreon Berlingo were also found burnt out in Haskayne after being taken from a house on Sumner Avenue between 7.30pm on May 30 and 4.30am the next morning.
