Outrage as thugs daub £100,000 Skelmersdale skate park with obscene graffiti

THE New Church Farm community has united to condemn the yobs who covered their new £100,000 skate park in obscene graffiti.

The vandalism, most of which is of an extreme sexual nature and targets a respected neighbourhood PC for abuse, has shocked residents and councillors alike.

The Advertiser learned of the weekend graffiti attack on Monday morning, when the paper received a flurry of complaints.

The £100,000 park in Tanfields, which stands yards from St Edmind’s RC Primary School , features skate board facilities and a teen shelter.

It was paid for by West Lancashire Borough Council.

Yewdale resident Mrs N Beeston said: “I would like to express my utter shock and horror at the current state of the new playground facility in New Church Farm.

“How thrilled we were to see work in progress on a new playground for our children to enjoy. But as usual, someone has to come along and spoil it for everyone. That someone being the graffiti artist who obviously gains pleasure from spraying the park with obscene drawings and disgusting language.

“The old park was in a bad state of repair and I’m sorry to say that I have a feeling that this facility will be vandalised and abused until it falls into the same state of disrepair. What a crying shame for the small children of New Church Farm and surrounding areas.

“I just hope that whoever did this reads this, and feels proud of themselves.”
