A FUEL thief is back behind bars after being caught siphoning diesel while released on license from prison.
At 10.40pm on November 8, Colin Stephenson, 24, of Towerhill Road, Up Holland, Skelmersdale was arrested after being disturbed siphoning diesel from a lorry in a haulage yard on Dearden Way.
Stephenson was charged with theft from a motor vehicle and remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates court on November 12.
Sgt Steve Monk of Lancashire Police said: “Although he was caught red handed, Stephenson denied the offence but there was sufficient evidence to charge him and he was kept in custody for court on Saturday (November 10) where he pleaded guilty. “Stephenson, who has recently been released from prison on licence following a burglary last July, has now been issued with a full recall, meaning he will now have to serve his full remaining time which is a total of 11 months.”
