A COUPLE from Skelmersdale are celebrating after losing more than 10 stone between them.
Natalie Hill, 30, and her partner Graeme Pitt, 31, shed the pounds after joining their local Slimming World group last April.
They decided to lose weight after both started to become unhappy about the way they looked.
Natalie, who has lost four stone, said she had ‘always been a big girl’ but managed to lose weight on her own while trying to get pregnant with daughter Faith.
She said that she managed to keep the pounds off throughout her pregnancy but put them all back on after the birth.
“I’ve never been so big in my life. I started to get very low and had no willpower whatsoever,” she said.
“I never fancied Slimming World, I didn’t like the thought of revealing my weight to others but it was a really positive experience and I’m glad I gave it a go.”
Graeme, who is originally from Runcorn, has lost more than six and a half stone, dropping from a 42” to a 30” waist.
Natalie, who herself has dropped four dress sizes, puts his success down to his focus and determination.
She said: “He is a very focused man with an awful lot of willpower. He used to be a champion swimmer when he was younger but as he grew older he began putting weight on and didn’t realise how big he had got. His achievement is fantastic and he looks great.
“There are so many benefits to losing weight, we have become a lot more confident in ourselves and are more energetic which means we can both run around after Faith!”
Slimming World team developer for West Lancs, Tina Whewell, said: “They have done fantastic we are so proud of what they have achieved. It's great to know that with determination and the help and support of a fab Slimming World group people who have struggled on their own can succeed and transform their lives so easily.”
