McFly have announced plans to perform at Aintree Racecourse this summer as the venue continues to up the ante for live music performances.
The pop-rock foursome will play hits including “All About You” and “Five Colours In Her Hair” at the concert on Friday June 14.
Aintree has become a favourite destination for the band, who have played there on two previous occasions since rising to fame in 2004, and vocalist/guitarist Danny Jones says they cannot wait to return to the world-famous Liverpool course.
“We’ve never had anything short of an amazing reception when we’ve played Aintree in the past and it’s such a treat for us to play there again.
“Our fans can expect to see us perform all of their favourite tracks, plus some new material that we think they’ll really enjoy.”
The announcement comes hot on the heels of news that chart-topping girl group The Saturdays will perform on the first day of this year’s Grand National festival, Grand Opening Day, on April 4.
John Baker, regional director for Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “McFly are one of the UK’s most popular acts and this latest announcement reinforces Aintree’s position as a premier destination for top artists.
“This year, we have already secured two major household names and we have a number of other exciting announcements in the pipeline, so it promises to be another big year at Aintree.”
