SKEM Men Aces disabled football team hosted a friendly against Skelmersdale Police and emerged victorious.
There were three matches over the course of Monday evening – all won by the Aces.
The first match was played by the Aces C team and, despite the police’s best efforts the Aces, raced to a 6-3 victory.
Manager of the Aces, Carl Eaton said: “There was some fantastic football played.
“There was excellent team work, good passing and the police played fair and adapted to the same ability.
“There was plenty of banter and theatricals – much to the amusement of our supporters.”
In the second game the police and the Aces stepped it up a gear and after a closely fought game the Aces sealed a 3-1 win.
In the final game of the night the Ace’s A team played the police and there was no holding back and the Aces eventually won 4-3.
This meant the Aces took home the Friendship cup that the police had won on the last meeting.
Carl said: “We would like to say a massive, huge thank you to the Skelmersdale Police for giving us their time, and giving our lads a night to remember.”
