SKELMERSDALE Police’s Neighbourhood team has uncovered yet another large cannabis factory in the town on Fairstead.
Officers stormed the address around 6pm on December 11 and seized the plants.
In total, 148 plants were taken from the house along with electrical equipment and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Every room in the property was being used to grow cannabis that police believe would have been distributed amongst the local community.
The police decided to investigate after several complaints were made by residents to the electricity board after blackouts in the area around the address.
Residents were concerned the power surges would cause the electrical wires to melt, causing a fire risk to their properties.
The electricity board noticed an unusually high bill at the address and contacted police who investigated further.
A spokesperson for the policing team said: “This find is incredibly significant and even more plants have been discovered in this raid than the one on December 8.
“I’d encourage the public to keep coming forward to us with information and we will act on it to keep your community safe.
“We are determined to keep these drugs off our streets.”
