A FIGHT between revellers erupted on Bearncroft in Skelmersdale during the last hours of 2013.
Police were called to the scene after reports of a fight involving up to 20 people.
Residents took to social media in their droves, posting about the scene going on outside their doors, but by the time police arrived at around 11.30pm most of the group had gone and no arrests were made.
The North West Ambulance service had 2,000 callouts between midnight on New Year’s Eve and 6am. The most severe incident they attended was the fight in Skelmersdale.
One man was treated by ambulance staff for a minor head injury at the scene but no other people were reported to be injured.
A police spokesperson said: “At around 11:30pm on New Years’ Eve, police were called to a report that there had been a fight between around 10 people on Bearncroft in Skelmersdale.
“The Ambulance Service treated one man for a minor head injury. Fortunately this did not escalate into anything more serious and nobody else was seriously injured.
“We take violent crime very seriously and if you have any information that you think may assist police then please get in touch.”
